Filip is a specialist in the field of transactional banking, finance, and advisory services related to various types of B2B loans, debt restructuring, and security agreements.

For nearly 15 years Filip has been advising both lenders and borrowers on financing mergers and acquisitions involving leveraged finance, as well as real estate and infrastructure financing (development and acquisitions). He has also provided advice on government debt support instruments and debt restructuring. He specializes in LMA standard financing and provides advisory services on standard documentation for lenders. Filip gained professional experience in boutique law firms in Bulgaria and Spain, and later collaborated with DLA Piper, PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal, Deloitte Legal, and Polish law firms Crido Legal and B2R Law, where he established and led the banking and finance practices at both firms, achieving first-time practice rankings for both firms in international legal publication Legal 500.

Bank Lending

Filip has advised both lenders (banks and non-banking financial institutions) and borrowers in various financial transactions, including acquisition financing, asset financing, syndicated loans, and structured financing. He has extensive experience in both domestic and multinational cross-border transactions. Filip also has rich expertise in anti-money laundering matters and regulatory advisory for non-banking entities providing credit services. He is an expert in debt restructuring.

Project and Real Estate Finance

Filip has advised clients on multiple projects concerning the financing of the acquisition and/or development of various real estate asset classes including shopping centers, office buildings, logistic centres, residential properties and other living asset classes such as student housing. He has also advised on the financing of infrastructure projects, whether that be energy, digital or transport infrastructure.

Private Credit and Venture Debt

Filip has been at the forefront of developing a growing private credit and venture debt market in Poland and the wider CEE, having advised on some of the largest and first transactions involving Polish companies. He is widely regarded as the leading authority for venture debt in Poland, bridging the international venture debt market with a burgeoning Polish growth market which has an increasing need for debt finance.

  • Henley Investments on its debut Polish acquisition and refinancing of Galeria Pestka shopping centre in Poznan.

  • Bank Pekao S.A. - Advising on legal matters for Bank Pekao S.A. in the field of financing the construction of an office building in the center of Warsaw, documentation based on the LMA standard, financing value over EUR 30 million.
  • Bank Pekao S.A. - Advising on legal matters for a bank on financing one of the largest office centers on the Polish coast. The scope of work included preparing and negotiating financial documentation and collateral based on LMA standards. Financing value EUR 55M.

  • BOŚ Bank - Advising on legal matters (on the lender's side) for Bank Ochrony Środowiska S.A. in connection with a hotel construction project, including negotiations and drafting of
    a loan agreement and its collateral based on the bank's standard documentation tailored to the transaction. Financing value approximately 20 million EUR.
  • OSI Group LLC – Advising borrower-side on Polish elements of a cross border financing for working capital and capex investments of the OSI Group – the premier global supplier of custom value-added food products to the world's leading foodservice and retail food brands.
