Junior Associate / Junior Associate

Mikołaj specialises in antitrust law, corporate law and M&A, while also drawing on a comparative perspective of Polish and Chinese law that is unique on the Polish market. He gained professional experience at LSW and at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, where he supported the governmental legislative process as Secretary of the “e-Legislation” Team.

Mikołaj specialises in corporate law, M&A transactions, capital markets, competition and consumer law, public procurement, state aid and EU funds.

As part of transactional projects, he participates in due diligence processes, with a particular focus on analysing corporate matters relating to target companies, reviewing the compliance of their operations with applicable laws and good corporate governance practices. He also prepares pleadings, legal opinions on commercial companies law, as well as documents required for the day-to-day operations and further development of companies, including entities listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

In the area of competition and consumer law, Mikołaj prepares documentation required in merger control proceedings and supports clients in proceedings before the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. He also reviews agreements, standard contract terms and regulations for compliance with antitrust law and consumer protection regulations.

Mikołaj also has experience in public procurement law. He prepares draft legal opinions concerning the application of public procurement regulations and drafts appeals to the National Appeal Chamber against decisions issued in public procurement proceedings.

In the field of state aid and EU funds, he supports clients in administrative proceedings before institutions awarding public funding, including the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, the National Centre for Research and Development, and the Medical Research Agency.

In his academic work, Mikołaj focuses on comparative legal studies, with particular emphasis on corporate law and artificial intelligence regulations in Poland and the People’s Republic of China. His diploma theses to date have been devoted to legal and economic issues relating to China, while his studies in Beijing allowed him to deepen his practical knowledge of Chinese corporate law and capital markets law. He also completed the “Summer School – Comparative AI Governance: Europe, China & Beyond” programme organised by the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.

Mikołaj is a lawyer, holding a Master’s degree in law, and a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. He also completed the School of Chinese Law and Economy operating at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.

During his studies, he participated in an academic exchange programme at Peking University. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.
