Not Just for HR Experts: "Mystery Shopper" and a Few Words About Bonuses

[ Article ]
A bonus is a component of remuneration that an employee is entitled to upon meeting conditions specified by the employer.
To effectively increase employee motivation and activation, the employee should be aware of their influence on the potential to receive a bonus in a given amount.
Therefore, when designing a bonus system in your company, you should consider:
- Criteria for awarding bonuses
- Conditions for obtaining bonuses
- The amount of the bonus
- The procedure for awarding it
Also, think about which type of bonus system will be most effective in your organization:
- Specialized Bonuses: Awarded to employees who have a significant impact on the completion of specific tasks, e.g., bonuses for the quantitative increase of tasks completed or early completion of tasks; team bonuses.
- Team Bonuses: Encourage team integration, dependent on the team's performance rather than directly on the individual employee, e.g., bonuses based on the results of surveys by so-called "Mystery Shoppers" 🧛♂️—anonymous surveyors visiting the store randomly to assess the work of the staff from a customer satisfaction perspective.
- Task-Based Bonuses: Given for the completion of goals assigned to the employee.
- Synthetic Bonuses: Applied for the performance of tasks on a company-wide scale, e.g., achieving specific financial results.
IMPORTANT: The regulations for the bonus system (remuneration) do not apply if the right to a bonus and its amount have been more favorably specified for the employee in the employment contract (Supreme Court ruling of 22.09.1999, I PKN 262/99).
